Surround yourself with the people who know you inside out and there won’t ever be any room for you to lose yourself.

Who is your biggest woman-identifying icon/inspiration and why?
I can’t say there is one woman in particular but definitely the women I am surrounded by. My mum and sister, my best friends, my Aunties, my cousins - all of these women are different but they all share the same hardworking, resilient, loyal qualities that I love about them.

What is your favourite part about being a woman?
I love our instinct. I don’t think a woman’s instinct will ever fail her. Always listen to your gut.

How do you empower yourself and the women around you?
I am passionate about a healthy body / healthy mind and I feel most empowered after I have accomplished a workout. Some people may think I’m crazy about the amount of pilates / other exercise I do but for someone who struggles with anxiety and depression there is no better outlet.  I have just completed a course in Pilates and I can’t wait to teach and empower other women to feel the same.

Beyond the curated world of social media, do you have any rituals that help you to remain authentic and true to yourself?
Surround yourself with the people who know you inside out and there won’t ever be any room for you to lose yourself.

If you could give one piece of advice to young women contemplating leaving their 9 to 5 and going after their dreams, what would it be?
Make sure you are around the people who care about you and will support you, and do it. Life goes so quickly and it’s important to be doing things everyday that make you happy and fulfil you. It’s okay to have days where you don’t feel happy or motivated, thats normal. But it’s important to make sure you are living your best life :)

What is the best advice you have received?
My dad has always said to me that life is all about choices. Your choices. This has always stuck with me because its so true - no-one is responsible for the choices you make in life except for you and its up to you to make the right ones. If you make the wrong ones, there is always a lesson to be learned.

Can you describe what a perfect day looks like to you?
Wake up, have a coffee from the cafe below my apartment, walk to pilates, meet my boyfriend for breakfast, see a movie, have dinner with my family.

If you could change one thing to make the world a better place what would it be?
Thats a hard question. The first thing that comes to mind is to help people understand that happiness doesn’t come from material items or money or getting as drunk as you can each weekend. It comes from doing things everyday that motivate you and make you forget the time. I see so many people in my generation who use the weekend to escape from their week and its a viscous cycle. Social media and alcohol can be very poisonous things, especially when they are mixed together.
